First of all, Verbal Commits is not an outlet of journalism that attempts to confirm what it posts; some of the listed "offers" are real and some are not. Second, a coach from the Kyle Smith era told me that although it varies from year to year, in general approximately 20% of initial offers end up coming to a school. A different coach from a different staff told me that in the Ivies, 20% may be high because of all of the additional Ivy hurdles to admission. Third, some coaching staffs try to prevent publication of offers; others don't care one way or the other. |
