Granted it was against a DIII team, the Big Green can score. This is consistent with the secret scrimmages and Green and White scrimmage. Barry and Foye can shoot the rock. We shot over .500 from the floor and almost .500 (.4798) from 3pt! We'll see what our ability to score is on Friday. If it holds up against DI competition I could see Dartmouth making a play for the tourney.

Better still we have length that can score in Jackson and Knight. I was wondering if Rai was hurt. I figured he'd play more than he did given he had starts last season. The freshman were ok in their minutes so that's a plus.

Ok back to Barry. 8 for 10 from 3pt land. OH MY. There's not much you can do versus a guy who can score from deep with that consistency. Pair that with the freshman Slajchert <sp> who was 4 for 5 from behind the arc will present mucho problemos for anyone.

Turnovers could be a problem...still got to get those under double digits. However, the ability to score combined with our rebounding we might have something to get excited about in Hanover.

We'll see how much carries over to the DAvidson game. Heaven help me if we win that game. Lets Go Big Green.

Another interesting observation was I saw that Emery brought the ball up on one possession! I couldn't tell if that was because we were playing Newbury or if that is part of our new offense.

If it is part of our new offense I like where we are going. It definitely increases the pace if the big can grab and go. We'll see.

This....is...embarrassing. Like playing a bad HS team. I suppose its better than a regular practice (new warm bodies) but we're supposed to feel good about this as fans? I can see McLAUGHlin is really looking to improve.....

Beats not scoring against a DIII team.

Dartmouth 76 Davidson 76 with 24.6 seconds.

Davidson with the ball.

Dartmouth cannot get a basket and it seems that Davidson has 6 guys playing on offense. There's always an open guy and an extra body crashing the boards.

Knight fouled Davidson's Grady from three range with 4.7 seconds left.

Grady hits all three.

Davidson 79 Dartmouth 76.

Dartmouth advanced the ball to half court and McLaughlin calls TO with 2.7 seconds.

Barry's three is blocked at the buzzer.

Davidson 79 Dartmouth 76 final

Davidson played well, but faltered late. Knight seemed a bit passive in the latter part of the game.

That's one that the Green should have finished.
Could have been the biggest win of the McLaughlin era.

Definitely one we should have had.

On the bright side, the women looked decisive against Loyola (MD). Hopefully the men do as well on Sunday.

No field goals in the last 5:00..... Can we not draw a play up or something.... Look at last year and number of games the Green were ahead or tied at under 5:00 mark and faltered. Just saying......

Close but no cigar last night. It's tough to close out a good team, on the road, on their home floor. I don't know if we got to conservative on offense to early or if the Young guys sphincters tightened up.

Either way I was left impressed with our abilities up to the 5 minute mark. I agree with McLaughlin, if the Big Green keep working they will soon turn the corner and learn to close out those types of games. A loss is a loss is a loss. But if we can learn from this, only our second outing, we will be better for it. Dare I say this loss is more a player mental issue than a coaching issue. We went to the same player 3 times down the stretch and they just didn't finish. That can improve with time. We needed sustained intensity down the stretch in a game like yesterday's. That's a player maturity and experience issue.

Overall I'm pleased with the new offense. There is a bigger rotation utilizing more of our talent. I'm glad to see Foye coming into his own this year. Sistare's 3 ball is vastly improved. There's a lot to be optimistic about this year.

No one expected us to be leading Davidson going into the final minutes with the exception of the players and coaches, and that's who matter most. This wasn't Duke v Kentucky but there is a miscalculation of how good this team can be this year. If we can stay healthy we may have better than an puncher's chance to make the IVY LEAGUE tourney. We're Scoring!!!

Dartmouth makes a footnote.

Davidson needed a late rally to beat [checks notes] Dartmouth. Kellan Grady and Jon Axel Gudmundsson each had 20 a piece, and the Wildcats snuck away with a 79-76 win over a bottom tier Ivy League team. Seriously, what’s in the Atlantic 10’s water this year?

Buffalo's win over WV was the headline. Guess who gets another shot at a top ranked team in Belfast. Hopefully we can take care of business with Loyola and tune up with the DIII matchup ahead of going buffalo hunting!

Bottom League of the Ivy. The disrespect is understandable. But were not sneaking up on anyone. They are just not looking for us. Knight said something preseason about turning some heads. I think the kid knows something others are overlooking.

Loyola is a very winnable game.

If Dartmouth wants to be taken seriously, we need to win tomorrow.

I haven't seen the Greyhounds play this year. By the numbers we should win. It'll be interesting to see what lineups we roll out. We didn't see much Emery or Rai, both staples and sisters last year. After the hot start against the DII our freshman didn't done as much against the bigger stronger team of Davidson.

Another D-III match and another 100 points.

Dartmouth defeats Elms College 100-54.

13 more three pointers (13-33) and 21 more free throws (21-27).

Next games should be a wee bit more difficult with road games at Buffalo and San Francisco.
