Makes sense, exactly what Kenpom’s model shows with K State @22 and us @127. Should be fun and just hope the guys stay loose and give them a good game. Whatever the outcome, because we won that first game we will get a shot at another power 5 team win or lose (Missouri or Oregon State) and that team will be more in the 75-85 range so a better chance for an upset win. Excited to see how the guys finish out the tournament. |

Just looking up their players on KP, this is a very experienced team (too bad), so will make it even tougher. They are currently ranked 5th best def, so will really need to keep the shooting and slashing going and got to find a way to get AJ going. |

We need to get something out of Rothschild, which we did not get against UNI. While he generally kicks butt against lesser teams, we are vulnerable to put-backs against the better ones. The key to staying close is the old Princeton philosophy---collapse and ensure you get the boards. Of course, that philosophy contradicts the current thinking that the 3-point shot is the key to winning. I think, though, I would rather have a 3-point shooting contest with K-State than a slam dunk contest. But as they say, this is a house money game. |

The o-boards given up around the basket last game don't exactly inspire confidence for this one. Max was hampered with the fouls but I agree, he needs a big game. |

I guess that’s what it’s worth on a neutral floor. I would have thought bigger spread also, but makes sense they are going with KP. Let’s see if we can keep it interesting and completely agree we need better rebounding and to continue to nail 3s to keep it anywhere close. |

From the live stats, it seems that the OSU-Missouri game just ended. If this is accurate, it would seem that the Penn-KSU game will be at least 30 minutes away. The Penn Audio link from the basketball schedule page does not list the KSU game as an upcoming event. The WXPN.org link does work, but right now Mountain Stage is playing. https://portal.stretchinternet.com/pennaudio/# http://www.xpn.org/xpn-programs/upenn-ba sketball |

Here is a renegade internet link. 1. Wait until it says to close the advertisement. 2. Close the ad by pressing the white play button (not the X). 3. This may have to be repeated several times. 4. Wait for the red bar to appear under the video screen. 5. Click the play button on the red bar, not on the video screen. As usual, do not download anything and have your pop-up blocker running. You may frequently have to close open tabs. |

Same issue against that other team from Kansas we played last season. We can brick 'em against bad teams and still have a shot at winning, but can't realistically expect the same against quality opposition. |

As P38 said, this game was house money. For a good stretch of the 1st half, we were right there. What's frustrating is that you're in the rare situation of being in the double bonus with more than 10 minutes to play and don't have the players to take advantage of this. |

Penn 4-20 from behind the arc. That and Brodeur’s inability to deal with KSU’s physicality were big factors. |

Yeah bummed our guys didn’t keep it a little closer but we played them tough while shooting poorly and getting nothing offensively from AJ or Max. I mean, we literally got 16 points from 4 starters not named Dev but kept K State engaged and in it the whole game. That is a very good team, an Elite 8 squad with top 7 players back, and preseason Big 12 Player of the Year. Some positives to take away: 1) defense continued to be strong both in keeping them off the 3 line and defending it well: 2) I thought outside a few lapses we did a good job keeping them in front of us. 3) We battled them pretty even on the boards. 4) Mike Wang came in when our bigs looked tentative and showed no fear (and did quite a few good things). Plenty of negatives too, but biggest were losing turnover battle badly, poor shooting, and hesitation on offense at times. As someone said, tomorrow is another day and a more important game than today because if we play well we have a great shot against Oregon State. Let’s hope the guys bounce back quickly and make a good showing tomorrow. |

OSU appears to be a very good defensive team in the early going, so another big challenge. They’ve got some length up front, particularly with the 7-footer Kelley in the rotation, and as a result really shut down the 2-point shots. |

Yes, no moral victories of course, but we went toe to toe with the #12 team in the country for quite a while. To me, the positive was the Defense. Our shooting has papered over the fact that we haven’t been defending quite as well as last year through four games, so I liked seeing us turn in a strong defensive performance against a top level opponent. While AJ obviously had trouble on offense, I thought we played them pretty evenly when he was in the game. The defense seemed to fall off when he was off the floor. Tyler on Wade was a fine idea — for a possession here and there to show him a different look. It was not something to try repeatedly, or for consecutive possessions. But the fouls left us there. |

Agreed, we're not ready as a program to match up with K-State's physicality up front. Obviously, we could have kept it closer if we hit our FTs, though and the fact we kept getting to the line shows our ability to get to the hoop. But our 2 bigs were virtually shut out. Let's move on---we still are playing well as a team. |

Our defense against an elite 8 team was spectacular. We held them to 28 first half points last night and 64 for the game. We are again a top 100 defense. KState is a top 10 defensive team and it showed last night. Great experience for our guys. |
