Some updates on recent alums playing professionally around the world, inspired by the Brooklyn Nets announcing today that they've signed Devin Cannady (https://www.nba.com/nets/news/2019/10/15/ brooklyn-nets-sign-devin- cannady-and-cj-massinburg ).

Likely headed to the G-League Long Island Nets I would imagine.

Elsewhere…

Amir Bell has signed with the Westports Malaysia Dragons in the ASEAN Basketball League in Southeast Asia. He averaged 10 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists for Fortitudo Agrigento in the Italian 2nd League in his first professional season

Henry Caruso is playing with New Heroes Basketball in the Netherlands, where Steven Cook was playing last year last year (Cook appears to have retired from professional basketball for the time being). Henry was a graduate assistant at Santa Clara last season.

Spencer Weisz signed a 2-year deal this summer to join Hapoel Beer Sheva in Israel, where he's played the last 2 seasons as well. Per his Wikipedia he's been named the team captain for the new season. Last year with Maccabi Ashdod, he averaged 9.0 points, 3.9 rebounds and 3.7 assists.

Hans Brase is playing his 2nd year in the Germany Basketball Bundesliga for Riesen Ludwigsburg after averaging 5 points and 3 rebounds per game in 23 games last season for Mitteldeutscher BC.

TJ Bray is also in Germany, playing for Bayern Munich, after an extremely successful 2018 campaign with Rasta Vechta (also in Germany), where he averaged 14.8 points, 3.2 rebounds and a league leading 7.7 assists and finished 2nd in the MVP voting.

Ian Hummer recently signed with Teksut Bandirma in the Turkish League after averaging 9 points and 5 rebounds for Nizhny Novgorod in the Russian League.

Myles Stephens was drafted in the 2nd round of the G-League draft with the 10th pick by the Long Island Nets today. Looks like he and Devin Cannady will be teammates again with Brooklyn's G-League affiliate

After being waived by the Long Island Nets after training camp, Myles Stephens will be joining fellow Tiger alums TJ Bray and Hans Brase in the German Bundesliga after signing with EWE Baskets Oldenburg. Justin Sears of Yale is also listed on the team's roster, and the team finished 3rd in the Bundesliga last season

Devin Cannady went for a career high 33 on 13/22 shooting last night for the Long Island Nets. For the season he's averaging 16 PPG, 4.5 rebounds and 3.1 assists on 37% from 3 and 86% from the FT line, and it sounds like he's taken on a leadership role leading the Long Island defense. 10-Day contracts can be signed starting on January 5. Wouldn't be surprised if he gets a 10 day look if he keeps up his scoring and defense

Amir Bell has signed with Israel's Hapoel Be'er Sheva for the remainder of the season, with an option for next season. Hapoel Be'er Sheva's team captain is none other than Spencer Weisz

The Israeli season is currently expected to resume in June

Thanks, an interesting read.

Just as an aside, one wonders how long he can play, and what will be his next career? Does he go into coaching, or go to graduate school?

After spending last season in Germany's 3rd division (where he thrived and averaged 21 points and 7 rebounds - highlights here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uchTTaSZJfg ), Myles Stephens has signed to play for the Vilpas Vikings in Finland's top division. Vilpas was in 1st place when the 2019-20 season was ended due to the coronavirus pandemic, but it does appear they have already had players sign elsewhere for next season
