Let's start with they Yale women who won at UNC 66-63 on Saturday afternoon despite getting a minimal contribution from Emsbo who fouled out in 21 minutes of play. Ellen Andrews led Yale with 24 points, 6 rebounds, 3 steals and 2 blocked shots.

The Yale men play at UNC on Monday night at 7:00 pm, a game available on the ACC network.

Great win for Yale and the Ivies … Based on the metrics of natstat.com, Yale only had a 9.9% chance of winning and data projection was 83-57 UNC win. www.realtimerpi.com had UNC winning 83-67. The win should keep the Ivies as the 8th ranked conference. The Ivy League will be tough – three teams Penn, Princeton, Yale likely compete for 1-3 at the tournament with Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth and Harvard studying the tiebreaker rules for the fourth spot

Men's game is available on ACC network or on Watch ESPN. Tight game as the first half winds down.

Tight game as the second half winds down, too.

I was hoping to catch the tail end of the game after the Penn game ended. Alas, the ACC Network's paywall superseded the Ivy ESPN+ subscription. No dice.

It's on Watch ESPN.

Woods' knee just buckled as he was driving baseline for a layup. Turnover led to a Yale dunk and a 5 point UNC lead with 3 to play.

Ugh Swain missing that wide-open transition three was killer.

Compounded by Robinson canning a deep one at other end.

Step back 3 by UNC as the clock was winding down and Yale is now down by 8 with 2 to play.

I'll bet Roy Williams has never ever been more intense in a game against an Ivy opponent. He is all alpha male right now.

Yale had a chance to cut it to three on a semi fast break, but a missed 3 pretty much sunk their chances tonight, I think.

Yale at only 5 team fouls, which actually hurts right now.

It's going to come down to FTs with UNC up 3 with 36 seconds to play and the ball.

This is not your bubbe's UNC for sure but nonetheless, Yale is for real.

Only for the first foul.

For the next one it will help a lot.

Ugh. Played it straight up on D, and allowed Francis to penetrate late for the hoop and foul. Gabbidon rotated over to try to take the charge but looked like a foot was inside the restricted arc.

They are reviewing the UNC drive, although frankly it looked like he traveled before he started to put the ball on the floor.

6 left on shot clock and 19.8 in game with Francis going to the line, up 5 now.

The front of the foot was OK but the heel perhaps not. The Tar Heels aided by a Yale heel.

Monroe drives, scores, fouled with 9.3 left. Another incredibly dumb foul by UNC.

Francis hits the key front end of the 1 and 1. Then makes the 2nd.

Yale fouled at the other end with 9.3 to play and down 3 as it gets 3 the hard way.

UNC fouled with 7.2 to play.

Makes FT.
Down 3.

Inbound to Francis in corner, looked like he travelled, but no call and fouled.

Misses FT.

Swain misses yet another 3 with chance to tie at buzzer.

3 point loss for Yale, but UNC was very shaky at the end.

Opportunity was there. Swain’s misses on earlier open looks and that Cotton missed FT loom large.
