Kind of like the Cornell game when I thought Brown lost one that felt like they deserved to win, they won one last night they probably deserved to lose. Two nights in a row with a huge something-to-zero run that I’m not sure what to make of. But that was still a big time character win. They had lost all momentum and were down 6 with 3 min to go. And they found a way and got stops. And Choh’s four FTs down the stretch - after a terrible shooting weekend - did not hit any rim. All swish. Gritty win to come back and get that done after all that had preceded it.

Didn't watch this one (maybe that's why they won), but agree that this was a big win. Taking a look at the stats, it was a really good weekend for Gainey - he had 25 points (11 for 14 from the field) and picked up 26 rebounds (!!!) in the two games. Barry lit us up, but he's been lighting most teams up in the past month. Still worrying that the Big Green were able to have as much success on the boards as they did - they actually had more offensive rebounds yesterday night (16) than when we played them in January (14). Regardless, a win is a win is a win. It at least keeps us mathematically alive for the tournament, even if we almost certainly need to win out for that to happen, something which seems unlikely at this point. Cornell is up next and they'll be playing their third game in a week, due to the makeup with Columbia on Wednesday, so maybe we can take advantage of that. |
