Yale is in the danger zone, with two losses to the (expected) bottom of the league banked and tougher competition on the horizon. It's hard to say any game is a must-win at this point in the season, but this game really feels like one. At some point, Yale needs to take Pete Carril's sage advice and hit shots. |

needed that one! couple missed 3s wide open to push the cushion, turnovers and of course we made it interesting at the end but good win. |

Well that's not going to be on anyone's list of prettiest games, but it was enough, and it was a win, and that's really all Yale could ask from tonight. The offense had its moments, the defense was much better (though Harvard got far, far too many open looks), and the execution happened when it needed to. There's a lot to dislike about this game from Yale's perspective, don't get me wrong, but I have a feeling that what this team needed more than anything was to just get that first win. A matinee in Ithaca is next, and if Yale wins that one, maybe the tension goes out of the shoulders a bit. |

That's for sure. I hate that 3 of the 14 league games happen when there aren't students on campus. It detracts so much from the experience for everyone, and it's hard enough to get people interested in attending basketball games without keeping the students away. |

Tommy successfully lobbied hard to end his P’s road weekend at the same time they decided Ivy Sadness was going to become a “celebration of Ivy basketball.” Thus this idiotic schedule where we guarantee a good 1/3 of league games are played in front of audiences even tinier than normal. |

Thinking ahead, the game in Ithaca is a huge opportunity for Yale to give themselves a little space in the race for the ILT (and keep themselves alive in the title chase - they'll need to improve still more to be serious contenders on that front but it's worth pointing out). I am guardedly optimistic about that game. Yale's biggest weakness recently has been converting opportunities in the half court, and Cornell is poor on defense, especially when they can't get turnovers. But nonetheless, Yale is shooting an impressive-like-a-train-c rash 20% from three in conference so far, and that ain't beating anybody. |

honestly pretty surprised at how many open 3s mahoney and pouli missed at home esp in 2nd half Any one were the daggers it’s a back to back and all but after how poorly they played on defense I was surprised I liked the work on the interior. It opened things up. But no dice so kind of eerie |

poorly on Fri night. Saturday both teams played tough so yale rose to the occasion |
