I'm highlighting this video because it conveys some sense of the reasons for Griffith's success as a coach.

Thanks for sharing, good stuff. I love these documentary / ‘behind-the-scenes’ style of videos. It helps the viewer understand things that they normally wouldn’t know about by just watching the games.

Getting to know Tyler Cordell is kinda interesting too. I imagine she’s a big reason (along with Griffith) why Columbia became a force, not just in the league, but in the mid-majors. It probably wont be long until head coaching opportunities start coming her way if they haven’t already.

To follow up, I thought three elements were particularly noteworthy:

1) The video itself: she's proud of what she's doing and is smart enough to know that filming it promotes buy-in from the team, the public, and potential recruits

2) Griffith in the locker room at 1/2 time in the Princeton game when she says essentially, `I know their offense; I know what they are doing; look at me, do what I say, and we will win.'

3) The repeated testimony from multiple sources of holding each player accountable, for themselves and for the other players.

Maybe it's a bit much to call what she does "charisma," but the video does open a window into a fierce, authentic team culture that transcends play diagrams and which the men's team just doesn't seem to have.

I took Latin at Hackensack High in the 50s. When I think of the sorry state of the MBB program all I can say is O Tempora! O Mores!

That was a great scene… she called out her team, but it had to be said. And the team responded with a great start in the 3rd Qtr.

Actually, from what I could see of the MBB at the Palestra we played Penn tough and although we lost by 9 it really went down to the final minute or so. We had a chances to steal the game at the end but missed a few big shots at the wrong time. The announcers were as usual terrible homers. One atrocious call in which I believe it was Noland was called and then must have said something because the call was clearly wrong and was T’ed up. Dingle was the difference—excellent plaster and he gets every call in his favor. Brown and McLean played well. DLR had a bad game offensively, which made the difference. Bedri, usually terrible from the 3 point line, actually hit 2.
