I think you made a mistake here. Although Griffith was COY, it was Princeton's Chen who was POY. Hsu, along with Davis, were selected for 1st team honors |

I love Chen’s game… thought it was an outrage that she didn’t even get Honorable Mention last year. But I suspect the POY to Chen didn’t go over well with Columbia and they need that…they play better with a chip on their shoulder. I guess we’ll find out in a couple of days. |

Actually I thought it was a tossup between Chen and Hsu; very different players. I also think the near death experience with Cornell may have hurt Hsu. But Chen is a wonderful PG and an excellent player who is fun to watch.

I think Chen got it because while she averaged a couple of ppg less than Hsu, her skill set is a little more diverse. |

It may not be a factor taken into consideration in the selection, but Chen has outplayed Hsu in each of the 5 games in which they've played each other, in particular at Levien last year and the Ivy Madness final last year, and the game at Levien this year. |

First of all, only the two games this year are taken into consideration. And secondly, since neither one guards the other, I don’t see how you can say that Chen outplayed Hsu during the two game split. You are of course free to say that Chen had a better overall game in both games than Hsu. Personally, I think had we blown out Cornell and had Hsu gone off for 30+ again, perhaps the result might have differed. But having said all that, Chen is certainly a worthy winner. And while I hope the tournament provides some vindication for Hsu, I do not question for a moment the validity of Chen’s accolade.

I think Abbey Hsu is a phenomenal player and worthy of the unanimous First Team All-Ivy selection she received. I was just suggesting one possible point of comparison that could have entered the decision-making process. I understand they did not guard one another, so maybe I misused the word "outplayed." But in a year in which 4 players (Chen, Davis, Hsu and Padilla) were all legitimate contenders, the decision must have been difficult for the coaches. |

I think Hsu was hurt by how good Davis was (Patrick, too, on occasion). Davis was much better than any of Chen's teammates, making Hsu's contributions a) less needed, and b) sometimes obscured by a teammates great games. |

But Chen is a wonderful PG and an excellent player who is fun to watch. I think this is spot on. If they were neck and neck going into the final weekend, Chen set herself apart. Hsu had a good game vs Cornell, but not a great game. Tonight, and hopefully, tomorrow, I’d like to see Hsu put up more shots from behind the arc. She’s certainly good enough to hit 3 of 8 from 24-25 ft if that’s what it takes to get a clean/open look. Plus, that will spread the defense even more for better looks inside. |

I agree with this also… while Hsu was consistently good, Davis and Patrick overshadowed her in some games. I thought Patrick deserved 1st team honors over Harmoni Turner… that’ll be an interesting match-up to see tonight and I don’t expect Patrick to disappoint. |

Crushing loss. And worse still because with 7 seniors and only 2 freshmen this roster was built to win this year. Lions will return only three rotation players next year. |

Wait a minute—the team did win this year; they were co-champs of the league. Sure last night was a bummer. I still don’t know what happened to Hsu, but Harvard is also a very good team which had a good game plan and stopped Hsu cold. And let’s be honest—we may have peaked a few weeks ago and have had some bad games recently, such as the Cornell game.

To be clear, I meant win the Ivy League tournament. Clearly coach was all in on that goal (I thought they were the best Ivy all year). But all credit to Harvard, they played great. |

We just picked a bad time to have an off night against a good team. We had chances at the end of regulation time and until 2 minutes were left in OT to pull it out but it just wasn’t meant to be. We cannot win against good teams is Hsu’s three point game disappears. Credit to Harvard for playing a great game and for an excellent game plan.

An extremely disappointing loss, and at the top of player cycle too. Maybe I am placing too much weight on her injury, but I do think that our performance became much less consistent after Perri Page went down. She was just coming into her own as a defensive player, and no one else on the team could really replace her as the first guard off the bench. But she, Henderson, Lauder, and Hsu will return next year, all of whom will be better. The biggest losses are Patrick for speed, and Davis at center; neither of the latter's potential replacements possess her combination of ball handling and shooting away from the basket. All we can hope for is that someone, perhaps Riley Weiss of 50 pts in a single hs game, come on strong to fill out the lineup. |

My guess is that she might do that to find another front court player, although she already has commitments from Blau Tor, a 6'0 forward Spanish player and Claudia Cooper a 6'1" forward from Ohio powerhouse Pickerington Central. |
