I think one of Griffith's greatest achievements was unlocking a system in which a traditional center was rendered useless. She saw that the successful teams in the league are all playing small and leaned into having 5 players who could all shoot the three and score facing the basket. Davis was gifted athletically so she could play against bigger girls, especially on defense, but I'd look to Columbia to keep bringing in long, athletic players who play super hard and can score from anywhere. It's a very entertaining brand of basketball. |
