1800 kids with free megaphones should create some noise....this is a game that Brown needs to win to set up the start of what is going to be a very tough early league schedule...five games on the road including at Penn and Princeton...Canisius is supposedly playing better but they couldn't get much worse...
Canisius returns home after a four-game road trip to host Brown University on Kids Day. Over 1,800 kids from area elementary schools are expected to be in attendance (weather permitting). The Golden Griffins bring an eight-game losing streak into the game and dropped a 93-72 decision at the College of Charleston in their last contest. The Blue and Gold has lost 12 of its last 13 and 14 of its last 16, dating back to last season. The Griffs are in the midst of a stretch where they play six games in 14 days. This is Canisius’ last non-conference game of the season, and the Griffs have a 1-7 record in those contests. The last time Canisius posted a 1-8 non-conference mark was in the 1999-2000 campaign. The Griffs are also trying to avoid losing five straight games in the Koessler Athletic Center for the first time ever. Brown enters the game with a 6-6 record and has won six of its last eight games. The Bears are coming off a 79-63 setback at local rival Providence. This contest is the first in a three-game homestand for the Golden Griffins.
