I think JTIII is a fantastic coach - Henderson implied one year that he's responsible for the "modern" way Princeton-derived teams play. Ball screens were not usually a part of Carril designed offenses, for instance.
But with all that was surrounding the program, one year was probably not enough to turn it around. Keeping him, would be committing to a longer process. I think letting him go is a mistake, but giving him one more year wouldn't have made sense.
