    In response to mountainred

Cornell (6-7) 93 vs
Central Penn (7-9) 69

Recap: http://www.cornellbigred.com/news/2018/1/5/mens-ba ...

Box Score: http://www.cornellbigred.com/boxscore.aspx?path=mb...

mountainred was correct in noting that Bathurst is out for the season. McBride returned to the starting lineup. I agree with mountainred that McBride is the team's best perimeter defender and has definite upside at the PG role.

There does not seem to be any timetable on Troy Whiteside's return.

Five straight 75-plus points for the Big Red. Morgan "only" had 21 points, since he played a season-low 28 minutes. His average dropped to 24.9 ppg and moves him to #4 nationally.

Gettings had 15 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists and 0 turnovers in 25 minutes of play. Jack Gordon scored 15 points, going 5-5 from three.

While Cornell did allow Central Penn to get 41 second half points, 15 were from the FT line. From the field, they were held to 2-11 from three and 10-26 from two.

While these non-Division 1 games have limited appeal, a role player can hopefully take advantage of the extra court time. Last year, Jack Gordon put up 11 points, including 3 of 4 three pointers and used the game as a springboard for much more playing time in conference games.

Next up for Cornell - Friday at Penn and Saturday at Princeton.
