I always hated when our students sang that song and was embarrassed by it. They didn't experience being great for over a decade and then sucking for a bunch of years before being great again (albeit at a different level). They lucked out by matriculating into greatness and took it for granted. I wonder if students during the Glen Miller/Jerome years would chant,"You Suck!" now if given the chance.
Ironically, I miss Hang Jeff Davis, which was banned for even worse student behavior, but was a historical artifact from the raccoon coat days of big time football at Franklin Field.
Any ice today, Lady? No? .........
Haha, well I'm not going to lie, I was one of those students circa 1997-2001. I didn't feel bad about it either and remember it fondly. We didn't win my freshman year and we were bad my senior year, and I was fine saying it those times too. Let's be honest, some of those other Ivy teams at that time REALLY did suck.
