Gonna be honest, I wasn’t that impressed with Ivanauskas last season. For my money, Mahoney was a far better player. Ivanauskas seemed to regress some from the previous year. But I obviously did not see a ton of games.
Yes, he definitely regressed. Went from PL POY in 2018-19 to 2nd team in 2019-20. The main factor was that he lost his ability to shoot. Here are his shooting comparables for the past two seasons, with the most recent season first:
2-pt FG Pct. 2020 - .486, 2019 -.537
3-pt FG Pct. 2020 - .265 (31-117), 2019 - .433 (42-97)
FT Pct. 2020 - .606, 2019 - .768
True Shooting Pct. * 2020 - .478, 2019 - .598
* Weights 2-point and 3-point shooting, plus fouls drawn and FT's made
I watched a fair number of his games, and a lot of his three point attempts weren't even close. Maybe some problem with his form. Btw, his rebound and block rates were almost identical both years.
