The year he tore his Achilles, I believe the Hawks offensive and defensive efficiency improved statistically (at least in the unsophisticated way we measured these things back then) once he got hurt. Yet the Hawks lost more. There are situations (often outcome determinative ones) where having a high usage player who can get his own shot is more important than the efficiency stats can pick up.



Plenty of people on this Board insisted that Dartmouth was a better team without Evan Boudreaux for the same reason.
