Basketball between two good teams is fun to watch regardless of whether the game is do-or-die, especially if you have a rooting interest. No offense, but I think the idea that the 14GT days were the only ones in which people cared about games like this is not really true (and I say that as someone who preferred the old way).

The players certainly care - you get rings for the regular season championship, after all.
