In the summer of 2019, lead assistant Bernadette Laukiatis left Penn for the HC position at Holy Family. She had been the head recruiter and McLaughlin's lead assistant his entire run at Penn. The ensuing years have, as you say, seen Penn slide down Ivy ladder (and been getting regularly smoked by Princeton). Those two things are not unrelated.

I was just going to ask what happened to Penn's WBB because they've really become non-competitive with the top of the league these last years. I was in person for the catastrophic 2017 loss to Texas A&M in the NCAAs (not sure I've ever seen a meltdown that bad, went from blowing them out to couldn't inbound the ball). Feels like we never recovered. Even the next two seasons pre-COVID Princeton was clear #1 and it has only been downhill from there. Doesn't seem to me this year is any different, so yeah... sounds like a familiar story.
