Caught the game on YES. About the best that can be said is that the Brown band showed up for the game. Jason Forte did not. He looks listless out there. Rarely does he look to create for himself off the dribble. He had only taken 4 shots well into the second half. Absolutely lacking in intensity. Can anyone offer an explanation? He has gone underground ever since the Columbia game. Jaaber and Begley made him look like a struggling journeyman. A couple of other observations. First, as either 05Brunonia or BrownAlum mentioned last week, Becker adds nothing to this team. I'd rather see Miller give some of his minutes to more talented freshmen. Second, Ruscoe continues to be clueless from the outside. Some of his shots were not even close. Hard to watch a kid's game go so far downhill like that. Then, again, noone was hitting any 3's. Third, without any athletic presence down low (and we don't have one), it's going to be very difficult to see this team contending, even conceding that there's some potentially talented freshmen out there. Fourth, it will be a real character test for this team to keep its head high for tomorrow night's game, as this game was not nearly as close as the 17-point final margin would suggest. It was a 30+ point spread until the last couple of minutes. Ouch. Maybe someone with some inside info can report back that the team has the flu and, understandbly, had an off night (or three).
