He was the first assistant to Maggie Dixon, who led the team to an NCAA berth and then died suddenly. Before that he was head men's coach at Marist and St. Francis of Pennsylvania. While the circumstances are tragic, at least Army is getting a talented and experienced head coach (and a Philly guy) who is familiar with the program.
