Troy jumped out to a 17-3 lead in the first 5 and half minutes. Twice, Cornell cut the lead to five, before going down 10 at the half. In the second stanza, Cornell went on a 17-5 run over a three and half minute period to take a 58-57 with 13:30 left.
With 10 minutes to go, the game was tied at 62. Over the next six-plus minutes, Troy outscored Cornell 14-4 to open a 10 point lead. Over the last three minutes of the game, Cornell was able to get the lead as close a 5 points, but Troy hit 14 of 16 free throws to close out the 8 point win.
