AP and Coaches polls have nothing to do with the analytics they use to seed teams. The chair on ESPN sounded about as clueless as could possibly be though when interviewed. Sad. Hoping to go to see the game, but, Navy plays at GW also Friday in WNIT.
Certainly the polls aren't one of the things looked at by the committee, but a lot of the factors considered by the voters should be the same as those used by the committee: quality wins, record, etc. fwiw, Maryland is much better than a 3 seed in Sagarin and Massey ratings as well, both of which use a team's entire body of work.
Agree about the cluelessness. The women's committee is far worse than the men's, and made several major blunders including breaking their own bracketing rules. Every year they screw up a few seeds badly. I think a lot of the members do no homework at all.
