The Sagarin ratings make interesting reading in light of this weekend's shakeup in the league. In the year-long ratings, Columbia is fifth in the league at 212 overall, expected to go 3-5 the rest of the season, beating only Dartmouth away, Brown at home, with at toss-up at home against Yale. But the "recent games" ranking has the Lions up at about 165, moving into second place behind Penn. Movement down at the top of the league has CU beating Yale twice, Dartmouth away, Princeton at home, Brown at home, with a toss-up at Harvard. The swing in expected league record goes from 6-8 to 9-5. It's all statistical hoo-hah, but it suggests the rest of the season might be pretty exciting for us even with a nod to Mr. James and regression to the mean.
