While I am not certain, the injured guys may not have been able to sit on the bench because of numbers. Don't think that you are allowed to suit up more than 15/16 players. I know that they sat on our bench AT HOME for most of the year - that may change in the Tournament. There are obviously some differences, e.g. halftime was 20 minutes rather than the usual 15. Perhaps this was another one.
