In response to Go Green
The Yale women came back twice against South Alabama to win 76-74 in OT on Saturday night.
They were cold in the first half, hitting only 1 of their first 25 shots. After being down 19 with only a few minutes left in the first half, they closed the half on an 11-2 run to go into the locker room 29-19.
They eventually tied the game at 46 early in the fourth quarter, but South Alabama opened up an 11 point lead with only 2 minutes to go. Yale somehow went on a 13-2 run over the next minutes and a half to tie the game. Yale had a chance for the win, but missed a 3 at the buzzer.
They went down by 3 early in OT, but Alexandra Maund hit 2 buckets to give them their first lead a minute and a half into OT. They again fell behind by 3, but Andrew and Maund hit shots to put them in the lead for good. South Alabama was down 2 with the ball and 10 seconds left, but they could not sink a couple of jumpers.
Berkowitz had 19, Andrew had 18 (5 threes) and Simpson had 12 points and 7 steals. Barahaman's shot was off, she went 3-21 from the field and 0-6 from three, but she was 8-11 from the line and had 12 boards. Maund had 7 points, all in OT.
The Bulldogs have their 18th win of the year and now head down Central Arkansas for the WBI Final on Thursday night at 8 pm eastern.
