One of Brown's best, Gerry Alaimo (Class of '58), passed away on May 10th at the age of 82.
He was one of the school's best players, and coached the team from 1969-1978. In his 9 seasons in charge, he went 88-145 with his best season in '73-'74 when the Bears went 17-9 and 11-3 (tied for 2nd).
Alaimo was named to the 100th Anniversary Team in 2006.

- Scored 1,046 career points, 16th best, and grabbed 870 career rebounds, fourth best in the Brown record book… Coached the Bears to a school record 17 wins, while posting a 11-3 Ivy mark (2nd) in 1974… His 26 rebounds against Rhode Island are second in Bears’ basketball history… Considered one of the top defensive players in the nation… Team captain and All-Ivy selection as a senior… Scored 38 points vs. Penn as a junior to lead the Bears over Penn.
