- Pennâ€™s athletic department said Monday it is launching an investigation into allegations of bribes to former Quakers basketball coach Jerome Allen, hiring outside legal counsel to handle the investigation.

â€œPenn Athletics is aware of the allegations regarding former head menâ€™s basketball coach Jerome Allen, and we take these allegations seriously. The University has retained outside legal counsel to investigate the matter. We will have no further comment at this time,â€ the department said in a statement. -
