Solid win for Yale, 79-71, for James Jones' 300th Ivy victory.
They were aggressive from the very start, taking advantage of the home court and Josh Howard's injury to control the inside. They shot 50% from two, assisted on 10 of 13 baskets and outrebounded Brown 26-18. When Brown improved its interior defense in the 2nd half, Yale still outrebounded them, 21-17, while going 6-13 from three. With all the fouls that went their way, they got to the line 20 times, hitting 15.
Good offensive production from the starting five and strong defensive effort from Bruner and Phills, who did another good job containing Cambridge. Atkinson also did well in a somewhat limited role tonight.
They are a talented group and are tough to beat, especially at home.
