Not so much layups where you need a path to the basket. But he should be able to post up some guards or small forwards. He can turn and sky over them for some banks shots from the side of the lane or from the baseline. He has done this a little in the past. Once he establishes that he can head fake, get the defender in the air, and go by them for a clearer shot or a layup. Perhaps HE needs to devise ways to get himself better shots. Perhaps the fact that he doesn’t do more of this shows a lack of maturity in his game that he needs to develope. I also think he plays with too much emotion on his sleeve. I think that puts added pressure on himself to continually back it up. He should play a little more within himself and focus on the take at hand, not playing to the crowd. Playing with emotion is fine. But it should be channeled properly. Again, more maturity would be beneficial here. He was great in most non-league games. But against instate rival and A-10 opponent URI we started to see him shoot less effectively, with many shots being forced. Again, when the league games started with the big home opener against Yale, we saw him play less effectively. And that has continued. He has to let the game come to him. There are others who can handle some of that load.
