My outsider perspective is that Dartmouth was markedly improved last year. Unfortunately, most of the rest of the league was as well, so it didn’t translate to conference victories. But they made a big big jump in Pomeroy and OOC, and the offense was much better. So I think there is positive movement going on.
That said, the lack of D1 experience on the coaching staff has been striking from day one, and doubly surprising for a relatively inexperienced head coach. That could be a preference based on the coach’s inexperience. The other paranoid conspiracy theory i’ve suggested in the past and will raise again is that the Cormier firing didn’t sit well with the coaching establishment, and has made hiring at the D1 level difficult for Dartmouth.
