Part of the problem with playing a tough Out of Conference schedule in football is that your players get beat up. When the league season rolls around you're often missing key pieces, or have guys playing at less than their best.

Better competition doesn't really up the risk of injury in basketball.



We will agree to disagree on this.

That said, I fully acknowledge that if McLaughlin doesn't get more wins in 2019-20, it might be time to acknowledge that he isn't the guy to lead us back to the upper division in league competition. It will be a very important season for him.
