    In response to Silver Maple

I wonder how effective this can be. I've managed chronic tendinitis in both knees since before I turned 30 (I'm 59 now), and played in rec leagues until I was in my early 40s. For the most part I was successful through consistent strength training focused on quadriceps and hamstrings, always being careful to warm up and stretch properly, and ice after playing.

At this point I don't play more than once a week, but I can still play.
