NJIT 59 Cornell 58

KenPom had NJIT at #149 and Cornell at #279 heading into the game. NJIT might have been favored, but Cornell absolutely should have won this game.

Cornell was up 18 at the half and 20 with 18 minutes to go. Even with NJIT chipping away at the lead, Cornell was up 10 with 4:30 to go.

NJIT took the lead with 1 minute left, but McBride hit a layup to go back up 1. Warren put them back ahead with 5 seconds to go, after NJIT hit 2 FT. NJIT inbounded the ball & got it to halfcourt before taking a timeout. NJIT then hit a short jumper with 0.5 to go to win it.

McBride had another good game with 17 points & 4 assists. Warren had 14 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists & 2 blocks. Boeheim was shut down with only 6 points (1-9 total, 1-7 from 3).

Completely a tale of 2 halves.
Cornell shooting - 1st half 46% (38% 5-13 from 3), 2nd half 37% (7% 1-15 from 3)
NJIT shooting - 1st half 19% (0% 0-5 from 3), 2nd half 55% (43% 3-7)

A win would have been a good confidence boost. Hopefully, their big collapse won't have a lingering effect.

On to DePaul for a Saturday afternoon game. DePaul is 4-0 with a 93-78 win at Iowa on Monday.
