Remember that they had to have separate admission for each game at Harvard, even without Harvard in it. They don't care that more people might attend than fit the location, despite the original intent of the Tournament was to be a grand Kumbaya where alumni and students from the participating schools will all mingle and attend the games in a spirit of sportsmanship (and superiority).
As for the remoteness, as someone who has travelled to both schools from Philadelphia, Dartmouth is a LOT more remote. I get that being close to Syracuse and Binghamton ain't exactly exciting, but Hanover isn't close to anything.
