Penn 31-23 at half. Best defensive effort of the year so far relative to the opposition. Hawks have been sagging down on Parker all game, so she doesn't have as many as normal, but still playing decently. Padilla also having more trouble, but has still done two or three things that no one's been able to do since Baron. They started pressing late in the half and forced a couple of turnovers for easy points. Need to start making threes again in the second.

Still up 46-39 with 7.5 left. Padilla's got 17, really the only person having a good night on O. Hawks starting to heat up from 3, although we have kept their best scorer relatively quiet.

Now 54-45 with 35 secs. Hawks have not continued making 3's, but we keep coughing it up instead of holding the ball.

Most intense full court press I have seen from Penn in recent memory, picked up in the back court … leading to 15 points off 17 St. Joe’s turnovers … While only one back court violation, the Hawks’ offense had less time that they would have liked to rotate the ball on offense, and many shots were rushed in the final seconds.

Penn could never really pull away in this game as it has done in the initial three, but the style of game with the backcourt of Kayla and Kendall pressing for 39 min will take the wind out of the offence pace - no 3s after the 1st quarter (0-7) and some late game missed FT held the margin of win down. Penn opened with a 70% win percentage and only at 33-31 Penn with 6:06 left on the third, did the win percentage drop to 65%. Penn had lead from the 4:55 mark of the 1st for every game this season.

Kayla had 22 – but it’s really the quality of athletic shots, with the passing and the defensive disruption that makes her game fun to watch. The rest of the team had nice balance with most of the scoring coming from Eleah, 8, and from the 4 with Kennedy with 7 and Tori with 8.

Still way too early to discuss March, but since there has been a loose discussion on the men’s side of a being a two bid league, realtime RPI has Penn at 81 with a projection to 46. Princeton has signature wins and an an OT loss to Iowa and sits at a 3 in the RPI with a projection to 13. Harvard is a 73 with a projection to 56. If this comes to pass and based on prior year events, if Princeton loses in the tournament, they should get an at large bid … Penn at 46 is close to being in the final 8 bubble – likely need to be low 30s RPI to get an at large … Harvard would be in the NIT. Yale currently projected as an NIT bubble.

Eight days until Duke – 1 PM – Friday after Thanksgiving.

WBB is 4-0 for the first time. A good gritty win against their first real competition of the season.

Duke is 2-2 and predicted to be a middle of the pack team in the ACC. It would be great for them and the league if they could go down there and pull off the win.

St Joe's was a decent team. Not sure Penn played its best game, but there was a definite upgrade in the competition.

Padilla didn't have her best shooting night but she is definitely very good and (surprisingly) she and the rest of the team are fun to watch

It should be a competitive game. Would have been nice for the Tigers to win last night. Foe the women’s conference get to #7 or #8 annually - each team has to win more out of conference and especially vs. the power 5
