Okay, I noticed that the last times Princeton swept the away weekend at Brown & Yale were 2004 & 2001, Princeton's last two Ivy titles.

I went back and since 1990-91, Princeton has won the league all seven times it swept at Brown & Yale (91, 92, 96, 97, 98, 01, 04) and did not win the league any of the other 12 times when losing at Brown or at Yale or both.

I remember some of those as inexplicable losses that dropped Princeton behind Penn. For example, immediately after the great comeback at the Palestra in 2000, Princeton lost at Yale.

I went all the way back to 1980-81, and Princeton swept at Brown & Yale 12 times and won the Ivy League 11 of those years (not 1987); Princeton did not sweep at Brown & Yale 17 times and won the league only one of those years (1990).

It was hardly a Quaker juggernaut in '87.

10-4 in the league and a 16 seed in the tourney (although quite a first half vs UNC).

I think it's safe to say that 10-4 will not win the Ivies this year.

I can't edit my original post, but the miracle at the Palestra was in 1999, of course, not 2000.

Princeton lost at Yale in both 1999 and 2000, and both were big upsets because Yale was not very good in those years. The 1999 loss was immediately after the win at Penn.

And before Penn's win at Jadwin (3/2/99) score 73-48.

Ahh, it's nice to see the Tiger v Quaker rivalry alive and kicking.
