Although we are about to see him in real time, there are now several posted videos available of Dyami from his high school games. They can be found at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zmxhThUayTw&a mp;fea... I am hearing that each of the new guards (Frankoski, Lyles, Starks and Green) has looked very strong at various times this Fall. Plus I have also heard that Danny Feldmann is a good shooter for a big man.

That's why I think all those projections for this season (Columbia finishes 5th, Columbia finishes 7th) are a bit too linear: you add up what took place last season, and extend it into the future. We have a new coach who strikes me as smart and probably better at both developing players and in-game strategies, plus some upperclassman who could jell and some freshman with lots of potential. The same sort of thinking caused people to underestimate the football team. With some luck, this year might include a second pleasant surprise.

I really like him -- I've always liked Starks from what I've read and what little footage I've seen. Not nearly on Andre Hollins' athleticism level, but ahead of Chris Clement. Not explosive, but excellent body control and quick, high-release on his jumper. Haven't seen many defensive highlights, but he has the agility and savvy to be effective. Saw a couple nice passes, but he seems more like a 6-2 SG than a true floor general.

A really great get for Columbia (or any Ivy). Starks and Agho in your backcourt for the next two years? That should get you excited. Columbia just needs some kind of frontcourt presence to be legit competitive. Something, anything...

There is an obvious incentive for the returning players to prove themselves under the new coach. I believe we're going to see some dramatic improvement in the play of some of the upperclassmen. It will be interesting to see which of the players thrive the most in the new system. It's anyone's bet who will become the starters/stars with Agho on this year's team, although there is no question that four or five of the juniors and seniors are particularly motivated to do well.

I have heard from at least one insider that Max Craig is vastly improved and will really surprise people this year.

PS, there are some rumors that the new coaching staff may shut down Asenso Ampin. Too many injuries, plus not a great attitude.

Craig looked very good towards the end of last season. Our three big "C's," (Cisco, Craig and Crimmins) will thrive this year under the new coaching staff.

If Craig continues to improve, we could go 9-5, and contend for third place. About Ampin, I'm not surprised. At a game last year, a local coach who scrimmaged with the freshmen and was close to the team said that Ampin had to have everything just right, i.e. emotional or physical problems that other people would play through derail him completely. I hope he can change because he could contribute significantly, but I also understand the desire to begin the season with everyone equally committed and on the same page.

Who are Andre Hollins and Chris Clement? PS, Agho reminds me of former NBA star Otis Birdsong. He has the same sort of game, and he even looks like Birdsong. I expect a huge year from Agho.

Hollins = elite 2011 SG target for Harvard

Clement = incoming 2010 freshman PG for Princeton
