"PORTLAND — Republican Chris Dudley was clinging to a slim lead in a too-close-to-call governor’s race that won’t be settled until today — at the earliest.

Early this morning Dudley was holding to a slender 18,000-vote lead out of more than a million votes cast, and with many votes in Democrat-leaning Multnomah County untallied.

Vote counting will continue at county election offices statewide for days, but at what point the race between Dudley and rival John Kitzhaber will be decided is unclear."

I hope he's not going to have to hit any foul shots.

He aint pulling it out. The remaining votes are around Portland, which is heavily Democratic.

You think maybe he gets a few more % in Portland with better FT shooting % there during his playing days?

Nah. He's a Republican trying to win in Portland, for goodness sakes!

I hope that Portland Republicans are better than the clowns we have here in Colorado. (Pardon my sour grapes).

Thank you, thank you. It warms my heart to see nearly any Republican concede -- especially this year.

I'm with you, but here in Alabama, er, Pennsylvania, the Dems got their butts whipped this year big time. Still amazes me that can happen in a state with 1.4 million more registered Democrats, but I guess if they don't vote.....

Probably a combo of:

1) many urban minorities who didn't vote;

2) some of the registered Dems outside of Philly and Pittsburgh are of the blue dog variety, and Sestak doesn't really fit that bill.
