A Spectator article discusses the search for a women's basketball coach:

Verdi, the acting coach, will be interviewed today. I'm of two minds about him. The players seem to like him--one person close to the team summed up their reaction as, "Finally, a coach we respect." And after three coaches in two years, the last thing they need is another new person in charge. On the other hand, being liked isn't everything, and the team went 3-7 under Verdi; On the other other hand, that included four games against Harvard and Dartmouth, and they played those teams close at Levien (staying in both games until the final minute), and Verdi didn't get a chance to play Cornell, this year's patsy. I guess there's no harm in taking as much time as they need. Dianne Murphy, the AD, used to coach basketball herself, so she must have some firm ideas about what the team needs.

Another Spectator article renews the call for an explanation of why coach Waites left so suddenly:

I think this is a losing battle. Obviously they can't talk about it for legal reasons, and I doubt that the 5th or 6th Spectator piece on the subject will change anyone's mind. In an earlier article, they quoted from a pre-season interview with Waites in which she said that she had discussed her past frankly (or some such phrase) with the committee that hired her. Whatever you want to read into that, I think it's about all we'll get out of this.

Speaking of Waites, she's involved in another current controversy, rather peripherally: She was an assistant coach at Arizona when the woman who's accusing Bill Cosby of assaulting her was on the team there:
