The Hounds knocked off a lousy Marist team last night. On the positive side, Olson and Walker both played very well. Olson has a nice all-around game, but needs to continue to attack the basket rather than linger in 3 pt land.
Shane Walker is actually showing some real desire. He displayed a drop-step, 2 times, missing one badly. He also made a nice jump hook.
Erik Etherly had a real nice second half, and it was nice to see Dylon Cormier.
Now the reality:
Loyola's RPI is 228.
Here is a rundown of the 5 wins this season:
UMBC 335
Dartmouth 221
Morgan State 201
Mount St. Mary's 273
Marist 312
What does this mean? If the other team sucks bad enough, we have a chance.

I thought the team did some nice things last night. We had balanced scoring, a nice assist/turnover ratio and actually shot the ball well.
Like the other post said, Marist is a terrible team and playing on the road. However, a win is a win, and hopefully we can get another one at Manhattan Friday who also seems terrible this year. 2-2 would be nice heading into a tough stetch @ Iona, vs. Fairfield, @ St. Pete's.
I agree that Olsen needs to get to the rim more often. On the whole, I would like to see the guards penetrate into the lane more often rather than pass around the perimeter. Rudolph is only the only one who seems to drive to basket consistently.

I watched some of the game online and was fairly impressed with how the team played especially Walker and Olson. I also thought Rudolph played well with 6 assists and just 1 turnover. Having Cormier back is huge for this team as he missed the last 2 or 3 games. As aighounds said this next stretch of games is critical for the team if they have any plans of avoiding the PIG.
