Tyler Hubbard would be a great pick up! He's on the shorter side but would likely be similar to Justin Drummond...except that he comes from a nationally ranked powerhouse high school and a prominent AAU program so he is used to playing against the nation's top talent.

He looks like a lights out shooter he could be a solid weapon off the bench. I really like that we are hitting the Baltimore and Washington areas hard recently.

Hubbard looks like a good shooter. His "mix tape" didn't really show much except that he's a spot up jump shooter. As someone previously said, he's on the small side in height for a 2 guard at only 6'0''.It would be nice to have someone off the bench who can provide some instant 3 point shooting offense. I think we lack that right now.
I really hope we get involved with that kid transferring from Xaiver. If he came to Loyola, he'd have a chance to play right away and take over as our go-to post guy. Walker would be gone and he would have 3 years to flourish. Let's keep our fingers crossed.
Also, by my count we've added 4 recruits and only lost 3 players on scholarship (Barney, Rudolph, Ivis). Anyone know anything else?

Earlier I posted about Jordan Latham transfer from Xavier. I saw this posted on twitter regarding where he might end up. He would be a really nice addition with walker and maybe winbush gone after next year.
@MattBracken I just heard tonight Loyola or Penn State.

just got a tweet from Matt Bracken from the Baltimore Sun. Jordan Latham 6-8 transfer from Xavier committed to Loyola. Nice pickup.
@MattBracken Matt Bracken
He committed to Loyola last night, per Nike Elite's Bub Carrington @thebody05 update on where former City forward Jordan Latham is headed?

Per Matt Bracken from the Bmore Sun Tevin Hanner is going to prep a year at Phelps School and is still committed to come to Loyola after that. But we have seen this story before, can anyone say David Samuels?

watched the baltimore summer league a week or so ago..
from what I saw...
Hubbard can shoot.. Marquis Sullivan like...
RJ Williams (if he can stay academically eligible) will be a great player and maybe allow cormier to play the 2 and allow Williams to run the point.
Finally got to see Winbush with a basketball in his hand, something I haven't seen, seems to be the same player he was freshman year.
The Xavier transfer looks like he will be another disappointing big man for the Loyola Men's Basketball team.. I hope I'm wrong, but I saw absolutely nothing from this guy at all, pretty sure his team lost by like 45 and he got dominated by a guy that plays at Bowie State University

The Bowie coach who recruited the big kid Hyman is now an assistant at Loyola. Dallesio must see something in Latham to have recruited him so hard. I'm reserving judgment on Latham and will wait to see how he develops in his red shirt year.

P.S. Just heard that Latham hit 5 3 pointers and played a great inside game. His team is not very good overall and they played against Bowie's entire team. Don't judge anything by the summer league as Loyola's players are split up per NCAA rules, but dII schools like Bowie can field a whole squad.

I understand that but Latham still got dominated down low by a D2 player... outbeat to rebounds.. that is telling enough for me no matter if the entire team was together

Let's not confuse talent with division. That comes down to recruiting, as I said earlier. How did Latham play this weekend?

He did play better, I will give credit where credit is due, but point is Bowie State was running much closer to what Latham is going to be seeing (as in an actual defense) vs. what all the other teams are doing.. and to see him struggle there speaks volumes imo.
I get your talent/division argument but there's no argument that D1 talent is better than D2 talent, bottom line. That's why D1 players are in D1 and D2 players are in D2... obviously there are exceptions, but exactly... they are exceptions.

Summer league, went to first game last night, Latham is good size, walker's height and 25 lbs heavier, seemed a bit slow but mixes it up underneath basket, probably had 20 pts underneath, Josh W who is transfering, played with him pretty good, Pierson Williams played with Latham and made a couple of jumpers, Olson played with Josh, had 30 pts, their team won game 100-97, Bowie State team was on court after against winbush etherly and rj williams, they were big and had alot of guys, williams is quick and can shoot, etherly has gotten stronger and it was good to see winbush on court

ESPN insider has Loyola in the running for two players (Class of 2012) from Baltimore who played at the same school as RJ Williams (St Frances). Shakir Brown is a 6-5 200 pd SF. He is the #51 ranked prospect at his position. Josh Forney is the #46 ranked C. He is 6-8, 220. Has anyone heard any grumblings about these players and what does everyone think our chances are of signing these local, highly ranked players. Their ESPN Grades are 88 and 84. Pretty big deals for the program. Thoughts?
