no field close, title ix

That being said it would be cool if loyola had baseball but i dont think there is a single college that makes money on the sport. There is a club baseball team.

They paved over our field to make room for the third largest astro turf surface in the world!

At that point there was just no interest in dealing with the logistics of not having a field on campus so the program folded....

Ridley was a baseball fan and was pushing to bring it back as part of the new stadium project. But the neighbors limited the scale of that project, and of course Ridley is no longer there to push it. Haven't heard much about it in a long time.

Youngsters around here probably never even heard of our most famous baseball alum...

Did Bielecki ever play for Loyola? If so the baseball program ended much later than I realized.

Ah, perhaps you have heard of Frank Cashen? It would be great to see Loyola add baseball.

Astro turf was put in in 1979, so Bielecki could have perhaps played one year....

Bielecki played 1 yr. (as a freshman) before the program was cancelled. It was Spring of '78, which was the final season.

Loyola is the only MAAC school without baseball (did someone already mention that?)
