Very good points Howard. For a while the trend has been toward moving the process forward, and it seemed like the teams that were waiting got left behind a little bit. It's certainly possible that at a point (maybe we've gotten there), that reverses, and teams can gain an advantage by waiting to see what's left.

Tangentially related to this point, Alex Kline is reporting that Northwestern, a team Penn and other Ivies occasionally recruit against, has received a commitment for a 2012 center from Romania and a 2013 PF from Indiana. So that ties up two slots for decent players with brains pretty early in the process. Granted an Ivy can lose someone to any school - even Fairfield - but if the Northwesterns, Stanfords and Vandys use up a bunch of their schollies early, it should leave some good players who are also smart for later in the cycle.

I know I'm way late on this, but I think the Penn fans who are dubious of connections between the high school and college level in eFG% and TS% are going to be a lot easier to convince once Mrjames completes his number crunching.
If MaxPreps #'s are to believed (I have no idea as to their reliability) Henry Brooks is a 62.4%/63.8%, Xavier Harris is a Wesley Saunders-esque 56.1%/59.4% and Patrick Lucas-Perry, if he's in the class,is 56.5%/61.0%.

Wait a second, BRF ranked us 5th in the Ivies in recruiting classes? Breathtaking.
Also, someone start up a Cully Payne thread.

Payne ended up selecting Loyola Chicago. No idea if we were ever really involved or whether we backed out with the PLP signing.
Keegan Hyland hasn't made a decision. And that's the extent of my knowledge about transfers - this is gonna be a long/quiet 6 months.

Payne was only looking at schools around Chicago (plus NC State).

Your source can't be right - BRF posted that we were involved in the comments section of a bolg.

Methinks you have a BRF problem.

And now Keegan Hyland has made a decision. Per the Buzz, he's joining our old friend Sydney Johnson at Fairfield:
