Never on our radar really but Jaren Sina, high school teammate of Dom Hoffman, committed to Northwestern today. He actually originally committed to Alabama but thought better of it
Gotta believe Northwestern's academic reputation played a role in his commitment. I understand he would have been the longest of long shots for us, but I wonder why he never received an offer from us. Would think there is absolutely nothing to lose on a kid like this who might have had a great relationship with Hoffman

Michael Fleming 6-0 CG (I list him this way because the article calls him a SG and hooptime calls him a PG)
Here is Hooptime's interesting tweet:
HoopTime "Could Bucknell be stashing Illinois PG in prep school? Michael Fleming says BU asst. helped find spot at N. Mt Hermaon vernonhills.suntimes.com/sports/1171422… "
Fleming just picked up his first offer - from Air Force. It appears that BU is still following him to some extent - but no offer. It appears he is playing the point exclusively now.
“The other day I picked up the offer from Air Force. Ever since I decided to go to prep school recruiting has really been picking up. A lot of Patriot and Ivy League schools have been contacting me like Bucknell, Dartmouth , Colgate, and Colombia. In the Midwest I have been talking a lot to Western Illinois, Northern Kentucky, Eastern Kentucky, and on the west coast UC-Davis.”

According to a Penn State site, Julian Moore, the 6-10 center from Germantown Academy who BU offered very early, has picked up some higher-level offers, including Penn State, Temple, and LaSalle.

Bison Recruits for 2013 07-27-12 10:59 PM - Post#131151
In response to Bison137
As I'm sure you know, Azzinaro has been on the BU radar for quite awhile and made an unofficial visit last summer. Two posts from back then:
1. Eric (8/31/11):
5-10 PG John Azzinaro from Brennan (TX):
http://rivals.yahoo.com/njhoops/basketball/re cruit...
2. B137 (10/21/11):
John Azzinaro, a 5-11 PG from Texas (previously from NJ) was identified with Bucknell interest by Eric two months ago. Here's a new article that mentions he made an unofficial to Bucknell in August (also Oregon State) and that claims BU has "high interest" in him. . .
http://fivestarbasketball .com/commitment-corner/10...
- - - - -
Based on the description of his game, I wonder if BU might envision him playing some minutes at the two as well as PG:
" "The best thing about him is his dribble pull up game. Being able to shoot it off the dribble. He's one of the best off the dribble players in the state," said Brennan Head Coach Tommy Hines."
FWIW, he averaged 32.5 ppg in four Texas AAAA playoff games. For the year, he averaged over 24 ppg. Hit 40% on threes and got to the line a lot.
New post on Twitter.
Chad Groth
@areacodes
"John Azzanario has full staff from Bucknell in the house. 2013 PG..."

(1/22/12)
New name on Twitter tonight:
2013 6-2 SG Nick Griffin from Magruder HS (MD):
JR Nick Griffin (@NickGriff5) from Magruder, top 3 of VCU, Bucknell, and George Washington. One of the long range snipers in the DMV
New lengthy article on Griffin still has BU in his top three but now it's BU, GWU, and AU.
Griffin Getting A-10 Looks; Recruitment Heating Up
Article mentions that his interest in VCU waned when Jamion Christian left for the Mt. St. Mary's head coaching job, but now MSM is in the mix. Griffin says academics are important, however, which may rule out MSM.
In total he has five offers at the moment but could pick up more later in the month.
Appears that we have fallen out of not only the top 3 but the top 4 as well
Marcus Helton
@MarcusHelton
“Magruder 2013 G Nick Griffin (Takeover) said he's narrowed his list to American, Drexel, GW + William & Mary and plans to commit in August.”
Helton is also reporting that another target, Kofi Andoh, has committed to Howard
