Saw Luke at Western Michigan's "elite camp" today, Sunday, he said they're driving to Bucknell tonight.
Thanks for the info. Any idea if he's staying for the last three days of the camp that started this evening? Or just visiting for the day?

A little update on the BU Basketball Camp that started Sunday afternoon and runs until mid-week. The BU team is well represented as all the players except Bryson, Andoh and Probese are working the camp, this year. In addition Steve Kaspar and Corey Starkey are here from the incoming 2011 Freshman class and Ryan Frazier is attending from the 2012 group. There are alot more of the younger age kids attending this year with maybe 10 or 11 young men of the 16-17 year old age. The team camp (one day) of several weeks past was pretty well attended with teams from Pa, Md and Conn playing. Mike Joseph had his Hazelton team at the event. I believe the Conn. team was the overall winner, maybe 5-0.

Thanks for the update. Have you heard anything about Joshea Singleton - the one signee who was not there? Since signing, he has been a mystery - with his charter school not getting any coverage from the local papers. Hopefully he is still going to be at BU in the fall.

For a change I was able to find something new on Singleton:
"For valedictorian Joshea Singleton, the classes at Kestrel were small, his classmates were nice, and the school challenged him to work beyond his comfort zone.
The 19-year-old was excited to start down a new path in life as he moves on to attend Bucknell University in the fall."

Singleton is not attending the camp. These kids are responsible for getting here on their own "dime". Dom Hoffman is here as of Monday afternoon. I am sure the BU coaches like getting a good look at these kids, playing against each other. I did watch the drills for awhile today, Casper and Starkey were paired up, against other pairs. Just as an observation, they both looked pretty good. I believe the future is looking good. I really think Dave and his staff are getting some nice student athlete's.

thanks for the reports nitlion.
sounds like Luke Ryskamp is attending camp:
Ryskamp just balls wherever he goes (Michigan, Grand Valley, WMU, Bucknell this week). After one particularly sweet baseline move, his coach, Broncos senior point guard Mikey Douglas was mimicking "Sign him up!."

The games on Tues. in Sojka that really were the one's to watch were the BU players and Hoffman, Starkey, Frazier, and Kaspar. One other player played one game with these guys. Games to 5 baskets and a foul shot to win or the game continued. Muscala, Wilman, and Cohen played very well with every BU player having some good moments. Hill, and Ayers didn't play to shoot very often and just set the plays, for the most part. Klebon had a decent inside game and Brackney made some 3's (nice range). Fitz had one great slam during one of his games. Kaspar and Hoffman played very well with Frazier and Starkey holding their own. It was fun to watch and they played for approx. 1 hour. Mike is really playing well and his outside game is a real plus to compliment his game around the basket. We are missing one starter, two bench players and one more incoming Freshman from camp, this could be a very deep basketball team in 2011-12. They will be a fun team to watch, the schedule as guys have been trying to figure out might be the killer, we shall see. We have to be odd's on favorites in the Patriot League.

Did Kaspar play any PG during the pickup games or only the 2G?
If he did play PG, how did he play?

Ayers, Hill, and Kaspar played the point guard spot for different teams and also Frazier played the point at times. Hoffman had a nice strong inside game (pretty reverse layup) and also a good mid range jump shot, kind of reminds me of a stronger JW. Ayers did drive the lane for a couple of shots and Hill made at least one 3, however, his passing was key to his game today. If they were handing out awards today Mike would have been the winner with a strong all around game.

Ken, appreciate all your recruiting notes. Beginning to think Bucknell has a height limit as Navy did many years ago. Can't seem to get excited over another PG.

6-foot-6 forward Tyler Cavanaugh of Jamesville-Dewitt has been a productive player alongside mega-recruit DaJuan Coleman at the high school and AAU level. Cavanaugh is the type of productive player that mid-major programs will hold their breathe about all July hoping a high-major school or two does not swoop in with a scholarship offer. It is no secret Cavanaugh wants to play at the highest level possible.
“I think I can play at that level, but I just want the scholarship,” he told NBE’s Matt Whitfield this afternoon.
That scholarship has come in the form of an offer from Vermont, George Washington, Fairfield, Canisius, Bucknell, Colgate, Lehigh and Lafayette. However, high-majors are keeping tabs on him with Syracuse, Boston College, Wake Forest and Michigan showing significant interest

Muuuuus will presumably have graduated by the time the hs class of 2013 arrives. all the more need for another big man. i do have the feeling that Hoffman is going to be a very good big man for us, and maybe we get even luckier and he grows a couple more inches over the next couple of years.
