With Owings and Logan out, Joe Scott went with a seven-man rotation against Holy Cross. After Wallace and Savage fouled out, he chose to go with a four-guard lineup rather than bring in a "true" forward. That may have been just because he didn't want someone cold in at the end.

In any case, it's a real opportunity for Sargeant to get more playing time (as it has been for Savage all along). This has to pay dividends in the league season.

And given that our aggressive defense will continue, we may find out against Rutgers or Monmouth who is next in line to get playing time.

By the time Wallace fouled out, there were only a few seconds left in the game. (Edit: 0:26 to be exact) Holy Cross still trailed after the free throws, so all Princeton had to do was throw the ball in, get fouled, shoot the free throws, and then guard against giving up a three-pointer. A four-guard lineup is perfect for that situation.

When Savage fouled out, and also when he sat for a short time in the 1st half, Wallace and Stephens were in the game at the same time. I would expect some more of that, especially against Rutgers. Wallace and Venable need to be agressive at both ends, but without getting in foul trouble. That may be the biggest factor against Rutgers. This is also a game where getting a lead is important because it would allow Princeton to dictate the pace.

True there were only 26 seconds left when Wallace fouled out, but Stephens and Savage spent a bunch of time on the floor with 4 fouls (Wallace, too, with 3) and there wasn't even a sniff of Koncz, Reynolds, or Ekeruo (and whatever happened to Elbogen??). I was especially surprised not to see Koncz get a minute or two...perhaps he is this year's Ekeruo who had 15 minutes in game one last year, 5 minutes in games two and three, then was never heard from again.

The Tigers are very, very thin up front right now.
