lets take care of business on our end and let the chips fall where they may. I feel confident that if we win out we will be in some postseason tourney. Obviously the goal is to get hot and get 3 wins in Springfield.

Baltimore Sun ran another story on the Hounds being one game out of first. Great to see the local publicity increasing.

Don't follow the NIT much, so not sure what their criteria is, but if they get to 22-23 wins by any combination of reg season or tourney wins, seems like a resume the NIT might like?
Iona seems to have some national respect that the Hounds ought to be able to piggyback on since they've held their own with them this year.
We all agree the big dance would be great but even an NIT bid would be a huge boost. I think the big fear is losing out, then laying an egg in Springfield. We’ve been down that road often, let’s hope this year is the start of putting those days behind us…

I think that if Loyola finished second to Iona in the MAAC for the regular season and then Iona wins the tourny in Springfield, Loyola would be a lock for the NIT. If say Fairfield and not us wins the tourney, Iona gets the NIT (auto-bid as reg season champs) and we are on the outside looking in. The MAAC is not going to put 2 teams in the NIT.

Someone tell me how we end up in first if Fairfield wins Friday night? Wouldn't all 3 teams have 4 conference looses and have split with each other? If Iona bets St Peters on Sunday (a lock) they would finish with no less than 23 total wins..one more than us if we run the table.

We would be tied with Fairfield and Iona and we would all be 1-1 against each other. Therefore they move on to record against the 4th place team which is likely Manhattan. If we win out we would be 2-0 against the Jaspers while Fairfield and Iona are 1-1 so we would be first while Iona and Fairfield would go to other tiebreakers to determine 2nd and 3rd.

Thanks loco09
Go Fairfield
Go Hounds
I'm sure Rider feels they have a score to settle since we put that big first half on them at Reitz. Glad game is on TV

No problem guys. As I said earlier the biggest piece to this puzzle is to just take care of business on our end and hope we get the help we need.

But sadly, we all know how this is going to end...but hoping I am wrong of course.
Too bad there's no TV for the Manhattan game, that's the one I want to see...

If we do come in second , that still translates into playing one of the winners of the PIG game in our first game in the tournament.?So we are playing a team that played the previous day. Come in third or fourth and your playing someone wih fresh legs .

also means playing Fairfield most likely, who is a team that I just don't think we can beat again.
We beat them there, but after going down 17 to start the game, and then they absolutely destroyed us.
Our big men showed they cannot guard Olander.. Sanders is too much of a mis-match and Needham is Needham, would love to avoid them, I'd rather see Iona.
