Okay. Reality check. Post your thoughts. Totally legit. But first announce to all if you have EVER coached a sport of any kind at any level....have you ever coached basketball???? Elementary? Middle school? High school? AAU? College?
Say what you know (think believe wish hope) all perfectly legit, but own up to your experience, wisdom, and personal success in the area in which you profess to be so savvy.
Seems so easy from the sidelines, but unless you have been there you have truly no idea.
Have you been a basketball coach ever?? Elementary?
Middle school? JV? AAU? High School? College?
So, go for it...but state your creds up front.

What is the point of having to put a resume out there? Just having experience coaching doesn't mean you know jack-crap about what is going on out on the floor, and someone who has never coached can have a great understanding of the game.

MAAC TOURNAMENT!!! 03-04-12 11:33 AM - Post#123808

The Siena/Manhattan game was epic. Manhattan has to be absolutely sick about not advancing. The shot at the end of regulation rimmed around the hoop twice - was heading downward - and somehow as if pulled by a magnet - shot out. Never seen anything like it.
The game ended around 12:30 am and Siena plays about 6 guys who must be completely drained emotionally and physically after last night. We've beaten them twice and if we don't beat them later today - we will truly regret it. The Hounds are better, deeper, fresher. We need to run them out of the gym.
I fear I may be overconfident about winning this game, but cannot help it. We play well. We win. Period.

As for my coaching resume. Just yesterday my team won its league championship in an OT title game thriller. We avenged our only regular season loss proving that no one was better in the 4th grade rec league.
Here's hoping Jimmy gets to get to experience what I did this weekend.
Go Hounds!

Nice that they play Siena in Springfield and not Albany.

Siena had a nice group of fans make the trip. Its only 1 1/2 hrs from Albany as opposed to 6 or 7 hrs from Baltimore although it looked like some Hounds fans made the trip. We have no excuses not to win this game today. All I ask is get to tomorrow's championship and see what happens.Siena had a few guys have career nights last night we'll see if they can duplicate it again...hopefully not.

We have a complete game like we did yesterday, I think we do well. Green was just lights out scoring, that was the only way Niagara stayed with us for most of the game (and went ahead a few times). Cormier made some absolutely sensational plays offensively. Etherly and Walker, solid games.
Really excited about the game today. Our year.

Had a little too much fun yesterday and only half-hearted-ly watched the game... know I saw Olson hit some big 3's but besides that, can't really say too much... awesome to win a game we should win.
I actually feel more confident playing Siena than I did playing Niagara. Loyola should and will roll this evening... leading up to the biggest game in school history tomorrow.

The MAAC board is amazing today, the Siena fans apparently dont like us having confidence in winning today. I guess one win last night made them forget about the past four months of mediocrity. I hope we run them out of the gym so they can bitch about how few fans there are on Monday night and how empty the arena looks.

Couldn't have asked for a better setup to advance.
Short-handed opponent coming off a post-midnight upset the night before, about as good as it gets.
That said, you have still have to show up to play, which they did last night.
But hey, what do I know, my only coaching experience is a dozen or so years of girls fastpitch, so I suppose I should limit my postings to softball boards

I just want to run them out so they all stop posting and actual basketball discussions can take place on that board.

Loyola should be able to win by double digits. Stay in control the entire game so we can save our energy for tomororw night.

Four years ago, Loyola was playing some of its best basketball in years under a man who was about to cash in on a contract extension. Andre Collins Jr, Gerald Brown, was unstoppable, every team knew he would take all of our shots, and he did and he still put up 25+ point games.
Loyola got out to a huge lead over favorited Siena in the MAAC semi-final. The lead got to 17, then Siena came back and thanks to a fat white guy named Josh Duell and his THREE steps, Siena capped off a come from behind win.
I've absolutely hated Siena ever since.

Shocker in Springfield. Fairfield takes out Iona.
NIT bid for us is gone. NCAAs or Bust.
Beat Siena.
Beat Fairfield.
Punch a ticket to the Big Dance.
Get it done.

For the NIT bid we need the #1 seeds of the mid majors to win because as the automatic bids fill up the field we will fall off the back end. Check nitology.com for the projected field.
But lets not think about the NIT, I feel excited about this team for the first time in 4 years lets take care of business.
