I wish Steve Bilsky had done the same with He Who Must Not Be Named at the end of his third season.

Well, if the AD is retiring, obviously, the word came from the President's office that they wanted the new AD to come in with a clean slate. That would suggest they are near to making a decision on AD and perhaps are willing to spend a little more money in being competitive.

Yes P'38, I think you're right. I had raised this issue in a post last week, wondering if having a new AD on point would hurt or help Agel. I guess we have our answer.
I, for one, am relieved. I have never been a supporter of Agel, and while I felt it was a shame he didn't get to play with anywhere near a full (or even partial) team this year, I am very glad he's gone.
And, I'm impressed that Brown acted, which is not something it has a history of doing.
It's too bad that Brown has to compete with URI (like they did when Bryant was hiring the vastly superior O'Shea, who was looking to return to New England), although they're presumably looking for a different caliber of candidate.
Of course, Glen Miller is always available.

O'Shea's record at Bryant is worse than Agel's. I don't believe they AD search is very far along. It will be interesting to see how this effects the coaching search, if at all.

Let Sorrentine keep the job. He's young, he'll maintain some continuity, he's got experience winning at a low-major level. Unless there's massive player discontent he's a logical place to begin.

I'm sure TJ will be considered, and truth be told, Brown's last 5 head coaches (starting with Cingiser) had never been D1 head coaches prior to Brown.
But I think I need more than "he's young and the guys loved him". The reality is that Sorrentine's mentor here was Agel. So, that alone doesn't inspire confidence. Unfortunately for TJ, he's tainted by the things we hear about Agel and the things we know about Agel (i.e. his record).
Should TJ be a candidate? Sure. But I'm not exactly looking for continuity of any kind after a 14-42 Ivy stretch.

I believe we have had only one head BB coach with D1 head coaching experience. Was Micky Kwiatkowski the only one in FB?

Whomever walks into Brown at this point should consider himself a lucky man. So often new coaching gigs involve massive rebuilds, requiring at least 2 years of excellent recruiting classes. I feel like with this Brown gig the talent is already there and waiting... I think Agel would've had a good year, and I think that Miller could step in and do some serious work with this squad. Hopefully, the coaching transition won't lead to any of the incoming and potential recruits that were being courted by Agel and his staff deciding to go elsewhere.

I pretty much agree. Next year's team is the one to walk into. Kind of reminds me of Miller's first year at Penn with that ready-to-win squad. While this squad won't necessarily challenge for the title, I do think it can be a winning / top-half Ivy.

Continuity is more important for the players than it is for us. If there are damaging things you've heard re Agel/Sorrentine, fair enough. You're privy to more than I. But if Sorrentine has the players' ears and has gotten some recruiting success (which is my understanding), he deserves a long look.
