THERE IS MEN'S BASKETBALL TODAY! GLORIOUS.

I think the Tigers have a pretty good chance of winning this first one. I'm a bit concerned that they probably haven't had a chance to practice until this morning, which means they might be underprepared for Evansville's specifics. I'm also a bit worried that a combination of Daylight Savings Time, a long Monday of travel, and the general excitement of March Madness might have them tuckered out and/or unfocused.

Why would they have not practiced until this morning? Clearly they expected some sort of postseason tournament so they would have been practicing on their regular schedule since after the Penn game, no?

The condition of Sherburne's shoulder has to be a significant concern. Though I heard a mention that it was okay, I have to think that it hasn't fully healed in the 5-6 days since the Penn game. Since he has become a key substitute down the stretch, not having him at all, or not at full strength, is a definite concern.

Indiana only started following DST a few years ago, so they're probably still getting used to it, too.

I'm sure they practiced, but they weren't able to prepare for Evansville specifically.

Well that goes both ways. And Princeton is a MUCH harder team to prepare for on short notice from scratch, having no institutional matchup knowledge, than Evansville. Advantage Tigers.

It does cut both ways, but Evansville didn't have to spend nearly and entire day traveling yesterday, so they got to practice and watch tape.

If the Tigers run their stuff and go inside, take care of the basketball, chase Evansville off the three-point line, and defensive rebound, they should be fine. Nothing outside their comfort zone is called for.

The only wild card is Evansville's ball pressure possibly forcing turnovers, and if Princeton hasn't matured in that respect from the beginning of the season (e.g. Wagner) then that'll be a hard but necessary lesson to take into next year.

Agree on all fronts. I think we are much better at handling ball pressure now than the Wagner game. I also think we can grab more than our fair share of offensive boards for highly-demoralizing second chance points.

Anyone watching an online feed? I don't have TV, and I can't find a feed. Post a link or PM me if you've found one.

I'm listening to John Sadak. We're off to a good start!

I was thinking the same thing! What - 100 points tonight??!!
These refs are terrible, by the way.

I think we were up 7 when Comfort went in and then we were down 6. The guy has barely played all season. What was that about?

I never complain about the refs online, but those two calls against Connolly, the charge against DD, and the technical on Saunders were bush.

A little more weak-side help on drives and more overplay on Ryan are called for. I don't see Evansville winning with long jumpers exclusively. The offense is shredding Evansville's D. The backdoor has been open, and they're getting tons of great looks from outside the arc.

The kid Ryan for Evansville is having a huge game. They're going to have to do a better job of containing him in the second half.

Evansville has a clear offensive style; they have a few guys who can really hit those driving bank shots even when guarded closely. Ryan can score that way and beyond. His step-through jumper in the lane when closely guarded by DD was unreal.

Purple Aces turning up the ball pressure at the beginning of the second half. Forced a few turnovers already. And their shooting has been remarkable. Princeton down by 5 early on.

Great defensive hero play against Hummer trying to go in and dunk.

Who is that team in the orange and black jerseys? Hummer slows up for a dunk on a 2-0 break? Pete would have swallowed his tongue.
